Sri M.D. Khetan; born on 16th Nov', 1933
in a small village, Banura, District, Sikar (Rajasthan) and came to Jorhat
(Assam) in the year 1948 in search of work. He began his career with service
at Jorhat (Assam) as an Accountant and began professional career as a
businessman in the year 1959 and started a firm under the name and style of
M/s Hightension Electricals, dealing with various Electrical Goods, being
encouraged and patronized by buyer's of wide repute and to implement long
cherished desire, (Determination is Stronger than Destiny) decided to start
a Manufacturing Unit is SSI level for manufacturing L.T. Distribution
conductors and hence laid the foundation of M/s North Eastern Cables &
Conductors Pvt. Ltd. as far back in 1986. Gradually started to manufacture
overhead transmission AAAC conductors, AAC conductors, ACSR conductors upto
400 KV lines.
Since conductors demanded high approbation from all concerned and
encouraged by the buyers from different parts of the country preferably in
western India, M.D. Khetan started the second unit at Sikar (Rajasthan)
under identical name and style in 1990 and got deemed Export / Export Orders
of worth more than 25000.00 lacs upon their strength and performance through
out India and abroad. In the same year Khetan group of Industries entered
into the field of manufacturing LT PVC Cables of voltage grade 1.1 KV / 3.3
KV and started the unit in the name and style M/s North Eastern Cables (P)
Ltd., at Jorhat (Assam). All the products carrying 'ISI' Marking and
ISO-9001:2000 Quality Certification Mark.
Recently, Khetan group of Industries started few more manufacturing units
such as Cigarette manufacturing unit of Jorhat (Assam) under the name and
style of M/s Kreesna Industries (I) Pvt. Ltd., franchisee with multinational
company M/s. ITC Ltd. (Closed due to withdrawal of notification) in the year
2000 and started Managing for M/s Kothari Products Ltd., "Pan Parag"
Group at Jorhat and on contract manufacturer for M/s Khushi Aromatics ("Pan
Parag" Group Unit) at Jorhat in the year 2001 after seeing the trend
and policies of the market and area, the group tied up with ITC Ltd. again
and Manufacturing "ITC Brand" Safety Matches at Jorhat as M/s
Shyam Associate in the year 2003. The "Khetan Group" of Companies
gives a local employment of around 1000 (approx.) workers directly and
atleast 2000 persons indirectly and in the same manner gave a rise to local
infrastructure along with subsidiary units. Thus, the Group has developed
themselves in all areas which has engraced their abilities. Recently the
group has set up a Hotel cum Restaurant at Guwahati "Surya Mahal"
having all necessary facilities under one Roof and this only one in North
Eastern Region.
Awards
Khetan group of Industries has built
up a very good record of accomplishment of performance since its inception
and has been continuously on more to improve its performance and to achieve
excellence in all the spheres of activities. Both the conductor units were
received the "Best Productivity Performance Award" in 1997,
conferred by the National Productivity Council of India and the award was
handed over to Sri M.D. Khetan by the Hon'ble President of India, Sri K.R.
Narayanan on 17.11.97 at the Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Also cable unit M/s.
North Eastern Cables (P) Ltd., received the 'National Award for Outstanding
Enterpreneurship', conferred by the the Ministry of Industry, Govt. of India
and the award was handed over to Sri M.D. Khetan by the Hon'ble Vice
President of India, Sri Krishankant on 17.04.99 at the Vigyan Bhawan, New
Delhi and he was also honoured at "International Rajasthani Conclave"
by Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sri Ashok Gehlot & Governor of Rajasthan
Sri Anshuman Singh.
Sri M.D. Khetan personally connected with many social organizations of
Assam as well as of Rajasthan.
In conclusion, Khetan group of Industries inspired by the opportunity to
make a big difference through the enlargement of its contribution to the
national economy, with its resources and capability to compete, it has
always focused on the creation and capture of value for the Indian economy.
